Cheshire Farm Real Dairy Ice Cream is made from whole milk, fresh cream, with only the finest ingredients carefully selected to ensure that they are free from artificial colours and flavours.
The whole process from the cows being milked to the ice cream production are done at the farm meaning that the fresh milk is turned into ice cream within 24 hours. This is explained in full at the farm and you can watch the production through a live link up Monday to Friday.
The milk together with its other ingredients is pasteurized at 67 degrees C for half an hour and then homogenized to ensure that it is not only free from harmful bacteria but is also of the smoothest consistency. Production also use a nitrogen tunnel to ensure that the ice cream is frozen down as quickly as possible to prevent ice crystals. All production workers work to HACCAP procedures and a positive release system is in place. This means that no end product ice cream leaves Cheshire Farm until it has been checked by an independent Laboratory company. Environmental Health also take regular samples to ensure the product is suitable for the end consumers.
